The Koucha Watanabe Kanaya Midori brings Japanese black tea into a calm, reduced form. It comes from Yakushima, a southern Japanese island, and is clearly regionally located.

In the cup, it shows a dark golden appearance. Floral notes meet honey, nutmeg, and a subtle maltiness; this gives the tea a warm, spicy contour without becoming loud.

Kanaya Midori is processed here as Koucha, meaning Japanese black tea. Thus, this tea reads not like a classic green tea, but as an independent black tea interpretation from Japan.
