An roasted organic Kabuse from Kagoshima with a calm roasting profile
Houjicha Kabuse combines the green origin of a shaded Japanese tea with the warm side of roasting. In the cup, it appears unexcited and pleasantly clear – a tea for the late afternoon, evening, or whenever you seek roasted notes.
Sensory-wise, hazelnut and noble woods come to the forefront. The profile is roasted, soft in presentation, and without intrusive bitterness; this Houjicha also works well as a cold brew or with protein-rich meals.
The tea comes from Kagoshima, an important tea region in southern Japan, and is made from leaves of the spring harvest Ichibancha and the summer harvest Nibancha. The leaves grow under Jikase-kaen, meaning direct shading on the plant, for 7 to 14 days.
The medium steaming level Chumushi strikes a balance between clear structure and more body; afterward, the roasting shapes the warm character of this Houjicha. Certified organic according to DE-ÖKO-013 and packaged in 50g.
