Sencha Donbukashi

An unshaded Sencha with a deep green, prominent cup

Sencha Donbukashi brings a direct green tea character into your daily life: dense in the infusion, deep green in the cup, and with a gentle cloudiness that makes it visually more present.

Sensory-wise, it presents mild umami notes and an almost creamy finish. This is perfect if you don’t want to drink Sencha too lightly, but rather with more depth and a calm, green profile.

The tea comes from the high-altitude gardens of the Matsuno region in Japan, near the Abe River. The leaves were grown unshaded, bringing them closer to a sun-kissed, more direct green tea profile.

For Donbukashi, the leaves are steamed for 180 seconds. Tokumushi, the extra long steaming, gives this Sencha its dense, very prominent infusion.
