An organic Sencha from the Suikyo tea garden with mild sweetness
The Sencha Suikyo Asamidori brings a calm, puristic side of Japanese green tea into the cup. It displays a delicate, vibrant green and a fragrance reminiscent of clear mountain air.
On the palate, it is mildly sweet, with a subtle, clear astringency. Bitterness does not emerge, and umami is not dominant – this makes the tea straightforward and accessible if you enjoy Sencha plain.
The tea comes from the Suikyo tea garden near Nara in Japan. The leaves are steamed flat, meaning lightly steamed, and gently dried; organic certification is clear: DE-ÖKO-039.
In cultivation, wild grass fertilization is used. This suits a Sencha that does not need to be loud but comes through with clarity, green freshness, and a fine astringency.
