An roasted organic Houjicha from Kagoshima with nutty warmth
Houjicha Miyama brings the calm side of Japanese tea to your cup: roasted, soft in character, and pleasantly grounded. The leaves show warm red and brown tones and appear distinctly different from green Sencha even when dry.
Sensory-wise, the tea is full-bodied and nutty, with subtle sweetness. The smooth, almost creamy texture makes it a tea for moments when you’re looking for something warmer and rounder.
This Houjicha is made in Kirishima, Kagoshima, by Shutaro Hayashi. The base is Sencha from the autumn harvest, which is artisan-roasted.
The tea is organic certified according to DE-ÖKO-039. As a low-caffeine Houjicha, it is also suitable for later times of the day.
